Measurements of particle hygroscopicity

We use a Brechtel HTDMA to measure the influence of surfactants on the hygroscopic growth of bulk submicron aerosol particles, at a selected particle diameter and in a given relative humidity range. We also use a Frossard Lab custom built aerosol optical trap combined with Raman spectroscopy to measure the hygroscopic growth of individual, trapped supermicron aerosol particles.
